I’m generally the sort of person who overpacks and checks everything a dozen times, and then still stresses I’ve left something behind. However, ever since my three week trip with a bag the size of cabin luggage my new adage is: “Unless you’re going to a third world country, you can always buy what you need when you get there”.

I’ve been going to Stourhead since I was a child, and somehow it is still a bit like walking in a dream. It is beautiful at anytime of year and often not busy, which means you can walk around in a space that feels like it is just yours. For a kid it is an adventure, for lovers it is incredibly romantic, for the older visitor it is calming. It’s a great place to visit. I would like to state categorically that I am in no way affiliated with the place.
